Look at what your mouth is doing as you are saying the tefillos. To actually try to look down as you are speaking may be uncomfortable to your eyes, so might have to make a compromise between actually looking and imagining looking.
Kol, voice, represents prophecy. We may not have prophecy these days, but there's still a chance that we have ruach hakodesh. Evidently we do when we are naming our children; might there be other times as well? Perhaps when we are davening?
Kol is associated with the raw sound starting from the throat; the mouth then forms that sound into words. (Show examples.)
When our minds drift during davening, we don't even realize what we are saying. So trace the words of our tefillos back, step by step, to their source, possibly their ruach hakodesh. First, see and feel the words coming out of your mouth. See how they are formed in your mouth. See the dual roots of the words: The ideas behind the words, and the sounds produced by your voice.
